Mr. Johnson

The Honor of Writing

I was writing a story a few years ago and there was a side character that kept popping into my mind. This character was a beautiful, wise, charismatic man and that character was based on my grandfather. That unfinished story has gone nowhere. It was, though, the beginning of a new idea of dedicating a book to my grandfather. The idea sat around in my head for a while.

In May, I sat down and worked on a few new books, two of which are about my grandfather, his amazing life, wisdom, and how much he is deeply loved. He was so happy to read his books.

At the end of June, he passed away suddenly.
Family and friends gathered together to remember the amazing man, my grandfather. He overflowed with peace and joy. He made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. He was a blessing.
He is missed and loved.

I am grateful to have so many wonderful memories of my grandfather.

I would like to tell you a story about someone I love and admire dearly. My granddad, Mr. Mander Pete Johnson.  He is a man of great integrity and he has many, many stories.
One story, in particular, has always stood out and makes me very proud to be his granddaughter.  His confidence, work ethic, loyalty, and his love of family are unmatched.
