Wednesday W-Update 8.15.18

Hello Everyone!

While on vacation, I discovered  a book that I quickly became obsessed with. It's a children's book called "The Light Princess" by George MacDonald and illustrated by William Pene Du Bois. It is a captivating and unusual story.  The version illustrated by Du Bois is my favorite. I just wanted for share this fun treasure.

Vacation is now over. Tomorrow, it's back to work!

Bye!

Wekkly Wednesday W-update 7-18-18

Hello Readers,

I am always pleasantly distracted by new ideas and new possibilities.  I often wish I had a few extra copies of myself so I could work on many different projects. But, alas, there is only one of me wanting to accomplish some many things at once.

Aside from the books I am working on now, I have more picture books, chapter books, and art ideas I want to work on.

Well, I off to work on a bit of everything.

July 11th 2018: The Honor of Writing

The Honor of Writing

I was writing a story a few years ago and there was a side character that kept popping into my mind. This character was a beautiful, wise, charismatic man and that character was based on my grandfather. That unfinished story has gone nowhere. It was, though, the beginning of a new idea of dedicating a book to my grandfather. The idea sat around in my head for a while.

In May, I sat down and worked on a few new books, two of which are about my grandfather, his amazing life, wisdom, and how much he is deeply loved. He was so happy to read his books.

At the end of June, he passed away suddenly.
Family and friends gathered together to remember the amazing man, my grandfather. He overflowed with peace and joy. He made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. He was a blessing.
He is missed and loved.

I am grateful to have so many wonderful memories of my grandfather.

6.20.18 Wednesday W-Update

Hello Readers!

Today is my first free Wednesday in months and I am enjoying it.  The Reading Buddy Program has ended with the school year. I had fun reading with 1st graders.
Now, we all get to relax.
I'm back to working on some old projects (again!) and fine tuning the details.

Summer begins tomorrow. Woo-hoo!
I have plenty I to read this summer and plenty of projects to enjoy.

Let me know about your summer reads.

Weekly Wednesday W-Update 5/9/2018

Hello Readers!

I've been working, writing, and illustrating. I'm actually surprised that I've been able to get so much book work accomplished since I've been so busy recently.

Anyway, I'm focused on the picture book "Mr. Johnson" right now. You may notice, my book schedule is all over the place. I put the breaks on a few other books until "Mr. Johnson" is published at the end of this month.

Here's a cover preview:

that's all for now!

April 27th 2018

Today is the 8 year anniversary of "American Princess".
This all started because I had a fun (or silly) idea to write a story about a princess who goes on an adventure, a princess story about an ordinary girl with an extraordinary personality.
I said my idea out loud and at the time
I didn't actually know what I started. I started a fire inside of myself.
Soon it wasn't just an abstract idea. I actually brainstormed, sat at my computer, created an outline of who my princess would be, and then I was truly writing my first novel. A complete story.
I became a writer. I could hardly believe it.
My love of drawing and writing came together perfectly
for this composition.

As always, I thank my parents first. I thank them
for giving my a firm foundation, for believing in me,
and supporting me.
My mother is my first and favorite reviewer.
She is also my #1 editor.

I had a few extra editors and reviewers on this project. So, thank you thank, thank,
Maria and
Jennifer.

Thank you family and friends who first read my work and gave me feedback.

AND a BIG THANKS to all the readers who have read my work
and took the time to review it.

Update: 4-15-18

Hello Beautiful Readers!

I hope you all are having pleasant weather and reading something wonderful. The weather here in Flow Town is not so pleasant but the sights are pretty, at least. It is cold and rainy and everything is covered in ice. All the ordinary things now look interesting as the water drops have frozen. It's a visually pretty and cold day.
Hopefully, soon it will be sunny and warm.

On to books...

Today, I decided to try the Amazon FREE book giveaway. I posted giveaways not even an hour ago. I ate breakfast, checked the giveaways ended after about 20 mins. I didn't even get a chance to advertise that giveaway. At least I know the giveaways can be fast and are a success. Next time I will promote the giveaways in advance.

February: 2018: New News

Hello Readers!

I'm working on the final drafts a few book due for release in March; Endless Rhyme: A Poetic and Artistic Pause" & "Justin! The Curious Boy".

"Endless Rhyme: A Poetic and Artistic Pause" is separated into several different categories: love, loss, dreams, and what that lies in-between.

"Justin! The Curious Boy" is the second in Justin! series. Justin is and incredible and curious little boy. Justin loves to play, play, play, and he also has many questions. Why, why, why...

Always,
B

Happy New Year! January 2018

It's 2018! Happy new year, All!
Last year flew by quickly and I am sad to say that did very little writing.
2017 was an exciting and very busy year for me with work, reading, planning my wedding, and honeymoons galore.

I am settling in, still working, and a volunteer Reading Buddy for first graders.

Hopefully, this year, I'll have more time to not just read books, but work on my own stories and illustrations.
Always,
B
